Furniture Quality Assurance Supervisor


Job Accountabilities

  • Attend PP meeting as required
  • Follow sample developments by reading Q-forms regularly and commenting when necessary or requested
  • Read and understand clearly the clients and Connor inspection standards
  • Daily walk the production, packing and warehousing and container stuffing area and report to vendor management and Connor QA Manager any irregularities noted, example: incorrect stacking of products, incorrect container loading procedure
  • Monitor in-line moisture content control and records and report irregularities to vendor and Connor QA Manager
  • Supervise in-line inspections, checking for moisture content, workmanship and processing defects and analyze report
  • Coordinate with MR for new product order placement, ensure inspection file is completed and PPM meeting is well conducted with necessary information from merchandise team before handing over to Technical & QA team
  • Verify vendors have performed 100% inspection by examining their procedures and inspection reports
  • Supervise final inspection are being carried out using signed off approval sample, surface moisture meter, gloss meter and that correct reports are submitted. If high percentage of defects is found cease inspection and inform vendor management
  • Ensure packing, assembling, drop test audits are carried out as directed
  • Ensure QA file, product documents, approval color panel, etc. are arranged in good condition, and easy for using and must be current
  • Ensure finished product and sample panels are checked using the light room and standard D65 lights
  • Highlight areas of concern with vendors’ production and request for technical support as required
  • Coordinating with vendor represent in investigation reason and solution for quality issue and come up with corrective action plan
  • Check upon corrective action plan implementation and report to QA Manager
  • Liaise with MR, SMR as required on production status and report immediately any and all delays to the MR
  • Ensure relevant reports are uploaded in timely manner
  • Recap factory visit report to QA Manager
  • Provide the weekly work plan of each inspector
  • Exercise due diligent audit

Job Requirements

  • University graduated
  • Have at least 6 years quality assurance experience in furniture industry
  • Knowledge on furniture products
  • Good command of English in both verbal and writing
  • Exhibit effective communication skills and have the ability to interact with others
